About HOA-SC

In South Carolina there are over 5,420 homeowner associations. The 2000 US Census reports 783,909 owner occupied housing units in the state.  Until more information is available it is difficult to determine how many homes are located in communities with a homeowner association.  Using an estimated average of 4 persons per board of directors, there are over 21,000 volunteers serving on the boards of South Carolina homeowner associations.
